What "Pause ✶ — then TALK" Is
A simple habit for the conversations that matter most.
Pause ✶ — then TALK™ is a growing prevention initiative designed to support families across multiple areas of modern life. It begins with one essential foundation: helping families navigate messages about bodies, gender, and relationships.
Kids today face messages about bodies, gender, and relationships every day.
Some are good, some are confusing, and some are simply harmful, and they come from media, peers, and countless online sources.
Pause ✶ — then TALK™ gives families a practical, prevention-focused strategy you can use every day—at
the dinner table, in the car, or when something unexpected pops up online.
Pause ✶ — then TALK™ helps families:

Tell the family’s truth about bodies, gender, and relationships.

Build shared family values that guide choices

Use simple steps to handle tricky conversations

Help kids make sense of body, gender, and relationship messages they encounter
Pause ✶ — then TALK™ isn’t complicated—it’s a family habit.

Why Bodies, Gender and Relationships?
A natural way to start talking as messages about bodies, gender, and relationships appear.
Children ages 4–12 are still learning how the world works. Most haven’t entered puberty and have no personal understanding of sex, arousal, or pornography— so teaching those topics directly can be confusing or developmentally inappropriate.
Yet many children first see explicit pornography around age nine. Families need shared language and simple skills in place before puberty and before exposure. This is why Pause ✶ — then TALK™ functions as a primary pornography prevention program that begins in an age appropriate way.
Why Pause ✶ — then TALK™ starts with bodies, gender, and relationships:
- Kid-friendly and developmentally appropriate
- Part of everyday life—not adult sexual content
- A safe platform for early skill-building
- Prepares kids for the reality of early exposure
- Strengthens parent–child trust before harder conversations arrive
The goal of Pause ✶ — then TALK™ is early skill-building and a strong parent–child connection. Pause ✶ — then TALK™ gives families a safe, age-appropriate way to begin these conversations as pornography and other sexual messaging enter the picture.

Learn Your Why
Means briefly explaining the value behind your decision so your child understands the reason.
